Reminder of AFS Policy requirements regarding deceptive implementation methods to obtain ad clicks or views via Related Search on Content pages. The email is reminding you about a rule for showing relevant searches on your website with AdSense (AFS). Here's the key takeaway:

Don't trick users into clicking the related searches. This includes making false promises about what will happen if they click or suggesting they'll get something for using the searches.

This keeps things fair for both viewers (who aren't misled) and advertisers (who get real clicks from interested people).

By June 30th, make sure your website follows this rule to avoid getting your AdSense account suspended.

AdSense for Search publishers may not use deceptive implementation methods to obtain ad clicks or views via Related Search on Content pages.

Dear Partner,

This is a reminder that by accepting the AdSense Online Terms of Service, you agree to the AdSense Program Policies. Under the AdSense Program Policies, publishers are prohibited from using deceptive implementation methods to obtain ad clicks or views.

Below is an excerpt from the AdSense Program Policies:

Encouraging clicks or views (non-rewarded inventory): Except for rewarded inventory, publishers may not ask others to click or view their ads or use deceptive implementation methods to obtain clicks or views. This includes, but is not limited to, offering compensation to users for viewing ads or performing searches, promising to raise money for third parties for such behavior or placing images next to individual ads.

Under this policy, publishers are prohibited from encouraging users to interact with the Related Search on Content (RSOC) unit through misleading and/or deceptive claims on traffic sources or on the RSOC page. For instance, publishers are prohibited from offering false promises at the traffic source that cannot be fulfilled downstream on the RSOC page, or have the RSOC page content suggest an incentive as an outcome of performing searches via the RSOC unit.

Such deceptive traffic acquisition practices erode advertiser and user trust, which we take very seriously.

Please review your AFS properties for any deceptive implementation methods to obtain ad clicks or views to ensure compliance with AdSense Program Policies by Jun 30, 2024. Implementation misuse of AdSense for Search, subject to Google’s policies, may result in, but not limited to, disablement or termination of your AdSense account.

Carefully review all AdSense Program Policies listed here

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team
