Behind what initially appeared to be a case of counterfeiting were, in fact, two journalists conducting an investigation. We recently launched a project inviting sex doll owners to share their experiences and help shed light on this growing phenomenon. Our core question is simple yet profound: Why do people choose to buy a sex doll?

Before beginning our work, we reached out to individuals within the community who generously allowed us to learn more about their experiences and explore the detailed information they shared. We aim to engage in meaningful conversations, listen to personal stories, and trace the entire journey — from the moment of discovery to the final decision to purchase an asian sex doll.

Through these accounts, we seek to understand the many factors that can lead to such a decision — whether they are physical, psychological, emotional, or social. Society magazine has long been recognized for its in-depth storytelling and powerful first-person testimonies, and this investigation follows in that tradition.

Our goal is not to mock or criticize doll owners. We understand that this topic can provoke strong reactions, but we believe it is important to explore it seriously and respectfully. The motivations behind these purchases reveal much about modern relationships, technology, and the changing nature of intimacy. Although the French market for sex dolls continues to grow, this remains far from a mainstream subject — and that’s exactly what makes it so fascinating to study.

Nevertheless, as journalists — and as observers of social change — we remain deeply interested in the stories surrounding male and male sex dolls alike.
